Oblate players represent Dublin

Friday, March 31st, 2017

This season we will have no less than 11 players who made Dublin teams at their age group. All players are currently training for their upcoming tournaments. Best of luck boys and girls. The club and your friends and family are very proud of your achievements.

U13 Dublin Team

Natasha Morley

Natasha who currently plays on our U14 team was selected for the Dublin U13 team. The team will now be selected into North and South this year. Natasha is a very exciting player to watch and nothing fazes her so we know she will give it her all.  The Liffey Challenge will take place in Greendale on April 23rd

U14 Dublin Team

Tara O’ Doherty & Kerrie O’ Neill

Tara and Kerrie will represent Dublin for the second time having both made the team last season so both have a bit of experience at this level. Tara has an all round game but will always work hard to improve every day. She can shoot and drive but she also has the vision for a good pass and will be a great asset to any team.

Kerrie can play both inside and out. She will glady take the opposing teams big player and will battle under the boards. She also has an accurate out side shot that when left open can knock it down.

This team will head to Barcelona over the easter to compete in Tomas Sola tournament.

U14 Dublin Boys Team

Greg Marinkovic, Colin Bolger and Abel Ikhaguebor

Greg is a U13 player and plays on our U14 team. He has great skill and will learn from playing with the older players and will work hard on his game.

Colin also very skillful and shoots the ball well and will also learn from this experience. Hussling both ends at all time is a must at this level so it will be a great assest to his game.

Abel is a rebounding machine both offensively and defensively who also has a soft touch around the basket. A great addition to our boys and will no doubt help this Dublin team.

U15 Dublin Team

Aisling Gelston & Caithlyn Dowling

Caithlyn has come up through the ranks and posses the Dynamo spirit with her hussle on defence and her never say die attitude.

This is Aisling first season as an Oblate Dynamo and she fits in perfectly with the U16 team and is learning every session from Coach Terry Staunton.

Again the selected players will be split into North and south side and the Liffey Challenge game will take place in Kubs home ground Greendale on Sunday April 23rd

U16 Dublin Team

Lauren Malone & Sophie Doyle

Lauren Malone has worked on her game for many years attending camps and never missing training and this is now paying off with her selection on the Dublin Team. She is an all round player, very solid on defense and has a inside and outside game on the offensive end. A true Dynamo!!

Sophie Doyle is a tough competitor and can cause teams trouble under the boards. She also has the quickness up and down the floor and has the skills to finish both right and left. Another true Dynamo

This team is coached by our very own Terry Staunton and assistant  by National League player Sam Massey

U16 Dublin Boys

Aodhan Bolger

Aodhan will represent the U16 boys of the club and will take his place among the best in Dublin at U16. Aodhan is the captain of the club team and is a real leader on and off the court. His decision making is second to none and is and will be a great influence on his team. A skillful player that can have a hot hand outside the arc. Like the Dublin U14 girls team the boys will head to Barcelona to take part in the Tomas Sola tournament.

U18 National Shield Final

Wednesday, March 29th, 2017

This Sunday our U18 Dynamos will be playing in the National Shield Final in our very own Oblate Hall against UL Huskies at 1pm. Having already competing in a 1 final this season, the girls will hope for a different outcome. These two teams have never come face to face before so it should prove to be  a great encounter. So we are calling all Oblate supporters to come out and support the girls in this National Final and for some their final underage game.
