U/12 ’s come back to take Meteors

Friday, February 25th, 2011

The U12 girls faced an always tough Meteors team, having lost to them in the cup by the narrowest of margins earlier this season. This was always going to be a tough encounter. The first quarter was dominated by Meteors, with Dynamos failing to score. First quarter 0-12 to Meteors. Second quarter got on the way and the game totally changed, with Meteors struggling to handle our inside players. Eva Swan was unstoppable on her way to game high of 12pts. Clare Quinn Nealon was excellent on help defence which was making it very hard for a battling Meteors Team. 3rd quarter started at the same pace with Dynamos defence holding Meteors to 2pts. The girls continued to make good decisions with an excellnt drive coast to coast by Lauren Buchannon taking the gap to 9pts. With great hussle on defence from all the girls and some good drives right and left by Leah Doyle snd Ciara White, dynamos were in control. Starting off the final quarter 5pts up Meteors came fighting back, but Amy and Carla racing back on defence had other ideas. Both girls defending well, stopping the meteors break. Meteors continued their comeback with a minute to go and Dynamos 3pts up , but true to Dynamos spirit they kept that 3pt gap till the final whistle. Coach Michelle was very happy with the girls especially their Defence.

Well done Dynamos.                                      Report and Pictures by Lynn McLoughlin
